Margaret (Ann) Cuttler, who taught math at Gulf High School for 22 years, died yesterday. She was 59 years old. She had been diagnosed with cancer shortly after she retired in June 2009. She had been the department chairperson for five years. Before coming to Gulf she taught math at Bayonet Point Middle School for about three years and at Hudson High School for seven years.

Margaret Snyder was born in Seymour, Indiana. She attended Milan High School in Milan, Michigan, and Eastern Michigan University, where received a bachelor’s degree in math and education. She had been active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary, where she met her second husband, Bill Cuttler, who died in January 2006. One of her two daughters, Angela, is also a math teacher. Her other daughter, Jennifer Opper, works for the admissions office at UCF. A stepson is Dr. James Cuttler, an audiologist, and a stepdaughter is Christine Mungine, who works for a foundation involved with cancer patients.
