From Coach Rick Hohenthaner, May 14: Tonight the annual meeting to select the SAC teams was held. The Buccaneers placed two seniors on teams. Rachel Enerson was selected on the 2nd team All Conference for infield. This was her first selection and caps a very successful career. Rachel was a four-year starter and pitcher. Well deserved recognition for a wonderful young lady.
Amber Maxey was voted to the 1st All Conference, also for infield. Though her selection came with a bonus – 2012 SAC Player of the Year! Amber has been a force to reckon with in all four years. Tonight validates what we as coaches felt since her freshman year: she is the best player to wear a Buccaneers uniform. She also is the first player to be voted Player of the Year in the nine years that I have head up this program.
Congratulations to Rachel and Amber for showing Buccaneer pride tonight and every day.
