On Dec. 19 teachers were served cake in honor of Cpl. Jeff Fichtemaier who will be leaving Gulf High School after five years as our School Resource Officer. Cpl. Fichtemaier had been employed by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office for seven years before coming to Gulf. He spent three years as a Field Training Officer, three years on the SWAT team, and one year on Community Policing. Before he became a deputy, he was a golf pro. Cpl. Fichtemaier was born in Rochester, N. Y., but is a 1990 graduate of Hudson High School. He served in the U. S. Air Force for seven years. His wife Erin is an Intensive Reading teacher at River Ridge Middle School.
