ap_logoData released by the Pasco school district Wednesday indicate that Gulf High School had the highest passing rate for Advanced Placement exams in the county.

Our passing rate — the percentage of exams which scored 3 or higher — was 68%. A score of three (out of a possible five) is considered passing, as most colleges award credit for a score of 3.

One hundred percent of our students who took the AP Calculus AB exam had a passing score. We also had the highest passing rates in the district in Microeconomics (82%) and World History (77%).

In addition, 92% of our students who took an AP exam scored a 3 or higher on at least one exam. That percentage was also highest in the county.

The Pasco County school district has experienced a 110% increase in the number of AP students compared to 2009, and a 115% increase in the number of students earning a 3 or higher during the same period.
