Van Mensel named Plant Manger

David Van Mensel has been named Plant Manager at Gulf. He replaces Norm Kolar, who has retired.

Mr. Van Mensel joined the staff of Gulf High on July 5, 2004, as a custodian working afternoons. In 2005 he moved to day time.

He was born in Detroit and grew up in Memphis, Michigan. His wife Jessica works in the bakery at Winn-Dixie. They have a two-year-old daughter Ellianna.

Mr. Van Mensel worked in the printing trade for nine years in Michigan and one year in Nashville.

When he moved to Florida, he first worked for Raymond James Stadium for 1½ years before coming to Gulf. For a while he continued to work at Raymond James after he was hired at Gulf, as game day supervisor and cleaning crew supervisor.
