Two girls are on our JV football team this year, Brittney Pressler (#23) and Keyvona Slaughter (#37). Brittney is a kicker and Keyvona is on special teams. They are both 10th graders and it’s the first time each has played football.
Brittney made her first kick of the season in the first half of the football game on Sept. 5. It was a successful point after touchdown. She was a standout varsity softball player last year as a freshman.
The first girl to play football for Gulf High School was Courtney Cohen, who graduated in 2008. She was a varsity kicker in her senior year and was the school’s salutatorian.
