Video clip – Birthday tribute to former band director Ed Francis

Today (11/4) is the birthday of Ed Francis, perhaps the most successful and well-known band director in Gulf High School history. That’s the assessment of Bill Rutherford, Gulf’s current band director, who was a band student under Mr. Francis. Mr. Francis served as GHS band director from 1977 to 1991. He has lately been recovering from a serious illness. Here is a happy birthday tribute published by Mr. Francis’s niece, Michele Francis Rehm, for his birthday surprise.
