That’s Bruce Springsteen wearing a GHS Buccaneer softball hat! On Friday night (5/1) Springsteen and the E Street Band performed in Tampa. Coach Rick Hohenthaner reports:
During the performance of “Pay Me My Money Down,” the Boss and members of the band left the stage in a replica march similar to a New Orleans funeral procession, complete with colorful umbrellas. While passing the pit, an area known for rabid E Street fans, Bruce stopped in front of JV coach Mike Mulroy. Bruce pointed to his hat and looked it over. Coach Mike handed it to the Boss who promptly put it on, backwards, and continued his stroll. As you look closely to the picture, clearly you can see the now infamous Buccaneer softball logo. His trip led him to the concession stand for a mid show adult libation and a return procession all while the band continued to play. When Bruce and the entourage returned to the stage, the hat was gone. No word on its location but whoever has the hat now has a piece of Buccaneer lore. Exciting night.
