Sixteen Spanish Honor Society students participated in the annual State Spanish Competition in Orlando this month. Fourteen of sixteen students received trophies for “sobresaliente” outstanding work in either impromptu speaking and/or poetry. Students also received superior rating for their interpretation of “Casi Casi,” a Spanish play written and directed by Puerto Rican artists Jaime and Tony Vallés.
Gulf High is the only school from the district to participate every year. The students should be very proud of their accomplishments because this year was the first time we scored superior rating in our division putting us in third place. Please congratulate these students when you see them:
