First game in the Hernando Softball Slam at Tom Varn Park in Brooksville became a classic pitcher’s duel against the Central Bears. Madison Morlan out-dueled the Central pitcher Kathleen Kohler for a 1-0 victory. Ms Kohler no-hit the Bucs through 6-2/3, when Nikki Sedivy reached first on an infield single. She moved up to second on a wild pitch. Madison came up and lifted a Texas leaguer over the shortstop, allowing Nikki to race home for the game-winning run. The win snapped a 2 game losing streak. Next up for the Bucs: Mitchell, tonight at 7pm. Great victory against a very tough lefty.
