Gulf High School’s coat of arms, the official insignia of the school, was placed on the front of the building today. The 3-D art work is positioned near the northeast corner of the building, on a wall which was added when the new guidance offices and Career Resource Center were built in 2006. The sign was made by Signature Signs of Safety Harbor. According to Mr. Imerson, the sign was funded as part of the remodeling. The school’s coat of arms was designed in 1977 when Gulf High School moved to its current location (trading facilities with Gulf Junior High School). The design committee consisted of John Highhouse (’78), Kathy Young (’79), and Cookie Kountoupis (’78). The Principal at that time was James E. Campbell.
