Ms. Dixon traveled to Boston this past weekend to attend an Educator Workshop organized by SABEH.
SABEH stands for Sino-American Bridge of Education and Health. While in Boston, Ms. Dixon reunited with American and Chinese teachers who participated in SABEH’S 2013 Teach In China Project at the Fujian Institute of Education in Fuzhou, China. Most of SABEH’s teachers are from the Boston area. However, in addition to Ms. Dixon traveling from Florida, teachers made their way from California, North Carolina, and even as far as China. The workshop focused on American History and Teaching English as a Second Language.
She also got to experience the excitement of the Tampa Bay Rays playing against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
Ms. Dixon receives “words of wisdom” from a historical re-enactor near Faneuil Hall.
Ms. Dixon is at the statue that depicts John Harvard, the man for whom Harvard University is named. According to legend, it is good luck to rub the foot of the statue.
