Darlene Murphy, an instructional assistant at Gulf, will retire soon. Her last day will be June 4.
Mrs. Murphy has been at Gulf since April 16, 1984. She first worked in the cafeteria, until about 1988. She has been an instructional assistant in Mr. Richardson’s class for about 8 years.
Mrs. Murphy was born in Baltimore and grew up in Princeton and Bluefield, West Virignia. Her husband is a retired former employee of Cotee River Elementary School. They have two children, Cindy, who graduated from GHS in 1989, and Shawn, who graduated from GHS in 1996.
