GHS Director of Bands Bill Rutherford is related by marriage to Mittye P. Locke, the long-time principal of Elfers Elementary School, which was renamed in her honor in 1983. The photo below was taken at the grand opening ceremony for the CARES Elfers Center at the old Elfers school on May 10: Kelly Rutherford (left, daughter of Mike Olson and wife of GHS Director of Bands Bill Rutherford) and their son Andrew; Mary Olson (wife of Mike Olson); Amanda White (granddaughter of Mike and Mary Olson) with her daughter Hope Iverson.
