On Oct. 27 Gulf alumni celebrated the life of former Gulf principal and coach James Edward “Ed” Campbell. The service was held at the Richey Suncoast Theatre as part of the 2012 Alumni Invasion. The event was organized by Bill Phillips (GHS ’75). It included a video by Rick Hohenthaner which included numerous photos of Coach Campbell provided by his family. Campbell was principal of Gulf High School from 1975 to 1978. He died in March of this year at age 75. A short audio clip of closing remarks by Dr. David Drake (pictured below) is here. Dr. Drake, one of Campbell’s former students, is the Director of Missions of The Northeast Florida Baptist Association.
