Corey Palermo is the (only) winner of the National Council of Teachers of English Writing Award for 2011. Mrs. Ledman reports that he submitted both an original piece of writing and an extemporaneous timed essay. She describes the award as a very high national honor. Corey is one of the two IB salutatorians this year. He is likely to attend Rice University.
