Congratulations goes out to the Boys and Girls Cross Country Team. Last night Gulf competed at the Class 2A District 7 Championships.
The Girls team have improved tremendously throughout the season and while seeded 7th and not considered a threat to qualify for the Region meet next week as they finished 4th overall and qualified. The team was led by Jaclyn Rooney and closely followed by Gilian Clark, Megan Perlmutter, Mya Skinner and Olivia Jackson as our top 5 runners.
The Boys team continued it winning streak this week and were district champions. The boys team crushed the competition by 62 points. The team was led by district runner-up John Jessup who was closely followed by Jack Malley, Dylan Picerno, Jeffery Graves and Adrian Saldivar.
Just to get a perspective on how hard they have worked and the desire to excel that these athletes have – we had 20 athletes that ran last night for Gulf and between the boys and girls teams and there were 17 personal best times (fastest they have ever run), 1 season best time (fastest time they have run this season)
