A special congratulations to all of the GHS Thespians which competed Saturday at competition. All parents, faculty and staff who wish to see these pieces performed, please join us at the Winter Showcase on 12/13 in the GHS Activity Center.
From Troupe Director, Mr. Washington: We took 21 solos, duets and/or group numbers to Districts this year; less than half of the 17 participating students were Juniors and/or Seniors. In the 21 events that we performed, we received no final score lower than Excellent (1st time in my year’s as Troupe Director). Of the scores receiving Excellents, a majority of these scores were within 2-3 points of being Superiors- YOU ARE ALL SO CLOSE! Within the scores this year, we had one perfect score by a judge (30) that was earned by Cassie Rizzuto; 2 others were within 1-2 points. As a troupe, we walked away with 2 CRITIC’S CHOICE AWARDS (1st Time in my year’s of directing that we have earned any)- Congratulations to Pryce Emerson for his work on Student Directed Scene and Reed Washington for his work on Costume Construction; as for the Student Directed Scene, I would be remiss in not acknowledging the acting that brought home the trophy as well: Sam Guttierez (9th), Memphis Judy (11th), Alex Macedonio (11th), Jonas Nolte (9th), Cassie Rizzuto (9th), Angel Solbach (12th), Reed Washington (10th), Seth White (12th).
