Parents and students: The City of New Port Richey recently installed a new crosswalk at the intersection of Madison and School Road. The crosswalk signage includes technology that allows you to activate flashing lights that warn drivers if someone is attempting to cross the street. Please remind your children to be safe and use care as they walk to school, and to use the new crosswalk for their safety. Please remember, use caution even when the crosswalk lights are activated, and never assume that drivers will automatically stop. Lastly, remind your children that the use of headphones while walking to school reduces their ability to hear and potentially avoid dangerous situations.
