Longtime Gulf High School coach Jerry Young, who had his No. 10 baseball jersey retired during a preseason baseball tournament in 2009, officially had his uniform placed on our school’s Wall of Fame in the front office in a ceremony today. Coach Young coached at Gulf for 35 years. The plaque inside the framed jersey notes that Young was also one of the founders for Gulf’s annual alumni golf tournament, which has raised over $100,000 for our general athletic fund.
