The Cinderella Project Makes Dreams Come True for Pasco Girls

Land O’ Lakes, FL – (February 16, 2016) – Pasco County high school girls who have no budget for prom once again can choose a free ensemble with help from the Cinderella Project’s fairy godmothers.

The Cinderella Project of Pasco is in its 13th year of providing brand new and gently used prom dresses and accessories at no cost to young ladies with financial need. Girls from all Pasco County high schools can benefit from the Cinderella Project, according to head “fairy godmother” and organizer Julie Rockwell.

The Cinderella Project accepts donations of contemporary prom-style dresses and accessories (shoes, purses, costume jewelry) in excellent condition. There is a real need for large size dresses and shoes. Cash donations to the Cinderella Project are used to purchase brand new dresses and shoes when sizes are not available in the donated inventory.

Maria’s Bridal Connections at 9332 Little Road, New Port Richey, is offering women who bring in their gently used formal gowns for donation up to $75 off when purchasing a new, regularly-priced gown. Maria’s will then donate the used dresses back to the Cinderella Project. Dresses also may be dropped off at Raymond James, 9040 Tryfon Blvd., Suite A-104, at the corner of Little Road and Trinity Boulevard in the Trinity Town Center.

Since 2005, the project has supplied dresses and accessories to more than a thousand Pasco County girls with financial need. This year, a Dade City location has been added to reach even more girls in need.
“Our goal is to be sure no young lady misses her prom because of lack of funds”, said Rockwell.
Girls can try on and pick out their ensemble on three Saturdays:

Saturday, February 27, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., at Longleaf Town Center, 3104 Town Ave., New Port Richey (next to Havana Dreamers Café)

Saturday, March 5, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., at Longleaf Town Center, 3104 Town Ave., New Port Richey (next to Havana Dreamers Café)

Saturday, March 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Youth and Family Alternatives Building, 38022 River Road, Dade City

Girls who wish to select a dress and accessories must bring their school ID badge. Call 727-463-4306 for more information or to get details about making a tax deductible cash donation.
