Travis DeWalt, a proud alumnus of Gulf High School (Class of 1990), returned in 2025 to serve as Principal, bringing his educational journey full circle. As a student-athlete, he made history as Gulf’s first state champion and Pasco County’s first individual state titleholder in wrestling. He continued his academic and athletic career at Briar Cliff College, earning a degree in Secondary Education and competing internationally as a three-time All-American.

Travis began his career at Gulf High as a Language Arts teacher, wrestling coach, and athletic director. In 2010, he led the school to its first team state championship in wrestling and was named Florida’s Coach of the Year. His passion for education and leadership led him to earn a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University, followed by administrative roles at Gulf High, Fivay High School, and West Pasco Education Academy.

Now back at Gulf High, Travis is committed to fostering a culture of excellence, pride, and student success.

In 2012, Travis earned his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University and began his administrative career at Gulf High School. From 2012 to 2017, he served in various leadership roles, continuing to make a lasting impact on the school community.

He later served as Assistant Principal at Fivay High School for four years, followed by his role as Principal of West Pasco Education Academy, the district’s westside alternative school. In 2025, Travis came full circle, returning to Gulf High School as Principal- right where his educational journey began as both a student and an educator.

Amy Mazurowski (“Ms. Maz”) has been an employee with Pasco County Schools since 2005. She started her career at Quail Hollow Elementary as a self-contained teacher after she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in K-12 Exceptional Student Education, Varying Exceptionalities from the University of South Florida (USF). After serving three years at the elementary level, Ms. Maz continued her instructional career at the middle school level, where she eventually became an assistant principal, after earning her Master’s Degree, also from USF. In 2016, Ms. Maz was promoted to Senior Supervisor of Compliance, at the district level in the department of Student Support Programs and Services. Ms. Maz and her team directly worked with students with disabilities, student code of conduct, and high school graduation rates. Ms. Maz has been a prideful Gulf High School Buccaneer since Fall of 2019 and is a proud mother of a soon-to-be Class of 2027 graduate.

Hilda Martin joined the Gulf High School Administrative team as an Assistant Principal in August 2018. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and a Masters in Bilingual Education and Second Language Acquisition. She continued her education in Educational Leadership at the University of South Florida. Mrs. Martin has been a Pasco County School District Administrator and teacher for over 20 years. Her experiences include Principal of James M. Marlowe Elementary and Chasco Elementary, Asst. Principal at Deer Park Elementary and teacher at Seven Springs Middle and Elementary Schools. Hilda Martin is a proud graduate of Gulf High’s class of 1985. She is married and has 3 children who have all attended and grown in Pasco County Schools. She is eager to broaden her leadership experience by working in a secondary school and working side by side other inspiring leaders here at Gulf High School.

Shauna Lewis began her career with Pasco County Schools as an ESE Instructional Assistant while completing her undergraduate studies. After graduating from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literary Studies, she transitioned into the classroom and began teaching English at Gulf High School in 2014. She later served at Fivay High School and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University. Following the completion of her graduate studies, Mrs. Lewis became the Assessment Coordinator at West Pasco Education Academy. In October 2025, she joined the Gulf High School administrative team. Mrs. Lewis is a graduate of Ridgewood High School and is proud to serve the same Pasco County community that helped shape her educational journey.

Karen Kledzik is the International Baccalaureate Assistant Principal where she joined the administrative team in 2025. She brings over 27 years of experience in education, beginning her career in Hillsborough County before joining Pasco County Schools in 2001. Her career includes teaching, serving in Pasco’s first cohort of Instructional Reading Coaches, and serving as an assistant principal at River Ridge Middle and Gulf Middle. She attended USF and Saint Leo University.

Outside of school, she loves spending time with her husband, children, family, friends, and dog and is happiest traveling, going to concerts, finding adventures, or simply being home. She believes that people are the heart of a school and enjoys being part of the Buccaneer community.

Yan Li-Wong started working for Pasco County Schools in 2012 as a substitute teacher and realized, teaching was a passion of his. Two short years later, he became a language teacher at a middle school, which opened up an opportunity to teach Mandarin Chinese at Seven Springs Middle School. Within the 8 year tenure at SSMS, Mr. Li-Wong was named Pasco County School’s Teacher of the Year for 2020! After spending time at Anclote High School as an administrator, Mr. Li-Wong joined the faculty at Gulf High School in 2026 as an assistant principal and this is what he has to say, “I loved teaching and I love being an assistant principal. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my students become successful in school, career and life.”
