Matthew Kitchel joined our faculty at the start of the 2016-17 school year. He teaches Critical Thinking/Study Skills and is our head football coach.
Mr. Kitcel was born in Tampa, Florida in 1976. Mr. Kitchel earned his Eagle Scout at the age of 14. In 1994 he graduated from Brandon High school, where he played Football and Wresting and made the Yearbook Hall of Fame. He played NAIA football for 2 years at Hastings College and one year at Peru State College in Nebraska. He graduated from USF with a Bachelor’s in Physical Education and from Argosy University with a Masters in Educational Leadership.
Mr. Kitchel coached football in Hillsborough county for 17 years. He was the head wrestling coach at Tampa Bay Tech and Middleton. He was also the Interact Faculty sponsor at Middleton and Tampa Bay Tech. Mr. Kitchel has worked as a school teacher in Hillsborough county since 2002. He is single with one daughter, Leiah A. Kitchel.
