The GHS Concert Band performed Friday night at River Ridge for their annual Music Performance Assessment and received an overall Superior! The kids did an amazing job and earned 2 Superiors and an Excellent on stage and a Superior in sight-reading, where they played 2 pieces of music that they had never seen before. Out of the 27 high school bands that performed on Friday and Saturday, Gulf High was one of only 6 bands that earned a Superior! This is the first time since 2000 that our band has earned this rating as a concert band. They are now eligible for the State level of Assessment in April. In addition, GHS senior Ethan Hodgkin earned a Superior rating as our student conductor. He received an ‘A’ in every category for his conducting skills!
