Greta Schrader, who joined our faculty at the start of the 2013-14 school year, has decided to stay at home and raise her two children. Her last day at Gulf is today (10/10).
Ms. Schrader taught English to freshmen and Inquiry Skills to pre-IB freshmen this year. She was also the CAS Coordinator for our IB program. Her teaching position at Gulf was her first full-time teaching position.
Greta Yerkey grew up in Ohio. She has lived in Italy and traveled extensively.
She said that she knows that as a teacher she can be replaced but as a mother she is irreplaceable. She has a 4-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old stepson. If she returns to teaching, it will be as Mrs. Urso, as she will be married in April.
