Snake charmers have nothing on the Buccaneers when it comes to controlling Cobras. Tonight (2/19) the Bucs headed north to Hudson to face the Cobras and came away with a convincing 8-0 victory. Madison Morlan stayed a perfect 3-0 with another shut out victory, going the full 7 innings, striking out 7 while giving up only 2 hits. She was greatly assisted by her outfield tonight. Haley McCarthy, who recovered a long fly to left by a Cobra, fired a perfect throw to Brittany Pressler. Brittney’s relay throw to third nailed the runner trying to stretch the double to a triple, Tarra Rice made the tag and the threat fizzled out. With a 3 run lead late in the game, Hanna McCarthy preserved the shut out with a perfect throw home to nab the Cobra runner trying to score on Nikki Sedivy. Offensively the Bucs were lead by Hanna McCarthy and Rachel Gardner who each went 2 for 4 and scored twice. Madison Morlan also went 2 for 4 and drove in 2. Tarra Rice joined in on the fun with a 2 for 3 night and an RBI. The game was sealed with a 5 run barrage in the top of the seventh. The ladies have the remainder of the week to prepare for next weeks 3 pack of home games, Tarpon Springs on Tuesday (2/25), Academy of Holy Names (2/27) and Weeki Wachee (2/28). Time to come out and see the hardest working team on the west side. Go Bucs!
