Jacquelynn Shelton, a senior IB student at Gulf, is one of twelve finalists in Florida for a Take Stock in Children’s Leaders 4 Life Fellowship.

Six of the twelve students selected statewide will be awarded the Fellowship. Just by being named a finalist, Jackie has already won a new Mac laptop computer valued at $1500 and other prizes.

Her mentor in this program was originally Mrs. Kelley, and her mentor has been Mr. Griffith since Mrs. Kelley retired. The announcement of her selection was made this morning (11/21) in Mr. Griffith’s third period class by Rosanne Heyser, the Take Stock In Children Program Manager for the Pasco Education Foundation.

Created in partnership with the Asofsky Family Foundation, the Leaders 4 Life Fellowship enables the recipients to excel in a university environment by giving them the resources that empower them to develop their full potential as leaders for life. The fellowship provides each student with up to $10,000 annually for leadership training and development, housing, food, textbooks, supplies, transportation and other college-related expenses.
