Ms. Dixon sent us three more photos from her trip in Asia.
Here is a photo of my students and me. I am teaching a workshop at the Fujian Institute of Education to Chinese Teachers who Teach English. These teachers are on summer break but are earning merit points for attending the workshop. It is similar to how we attend professional development workshops in Land O’ Lakes. The purpose of this workshop is for the Chinese teachers to learn from American teachers creative teaching strategies and for the Chinese teachers to practice their spoken and written English with native speakers. I’m having such a great time here 🙂
What we do every day in our classrooms, such as partner work, small group work, and other creative techniques, are COMPLETELY new ideas for the Chinese teachers. This is a very interesting and rewarding experience.
This photo was taken during the opening ceremony. I am seated with two other American teachers, Evan from New Hampshire and Christy from Massachusetts. There are 12 American teachers working with over 250 Chinese teachers. This experience is amazing! 🙂
