Gulf student Monica Ouano held a jeans drive called Teens for Jeans during the last several weeks. She says that the number one item requested by the 1.7 million homeless teens in the U. S. is a pair of jeans. She did the final count on Feb. 8 and reports that she collected 452 jeans. They will be donated to a local homeless shelter and other homeless shelters in the U. S. and Canada. Monica did this event as part of her CAS requirement for the International Baccalaureate program. She is pictured on the right; with her is Jiaxin Zhang who helped her with the project. Others who helped but are not pictured are Michaela Abelgas, Brianna Rossi, and Ana Filippone.
