The Gulf NJROTC unit placed 4th in the state competition at Oviedo High School today. The unit had placed 5th last year, and 6th earlier.

In an email, Dr. Knobl wrote, “I would like to congratulate Commander Nesthus, Chief Rodriguez, and the 110 cadets for their accomplishments. They work all year long and have earned this recognition.”

Twenty-four teams participated in the competition. Gulf placed second in academics, third in color guard, fourth in team sit-ups, and fifth in overall athletics.

Three cadets, pictured below, won medals. Cody Boyet placed 4th in academics, Krystene Wills placed 3rd in sit-ups (she did 291), and Britnee Hogarth placed 3rd in push ups (she did 72).
