James Aulisio joined the Gulf faculty on Monday, replacing Ms. Peek, who recently retired. Mr. Aulisio will teach 10th grade pre-IB chemistry and 11th and 12th grade IB chemistry.
Before coming to Gulf, Mr. Aulisio taught for 25 years in Hillsborough County, at Gaither, Freedom, and Sickles high schools. He retired in June 2010 but more recently decided he would like to continue teaching. He lives in Wesley Chapel.
Mr. Aulisio has a B. S. degree in Chemistry Education from the University of Scranton and an M. S. degree in General Science Education. He was born in Taylor, Pa., and graduated from Old Forge High School in Old Forge, Pa., which he says is known as the Pizza Capital of the World.
He is married to Janice Aulisio, who has retired from Florida Blood Services. His hobby is riding horses, Shalimar and Star. A son, Brian, teaches in the Highlands School District in North Carolina.
