Mrs. Alwood reports that her daughter-in-law Kelley Atkinson Alwood had a part in Curiosity, which landed on Mars on Aug. 6. She was employed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and worked on the communications system. In the picture below, she is dressed in her clean room suit at JPL, with the Descent Stage of the Mars Science Lab behind her. Kelley spoke at GHS several years ago, while she was at JPL. She is married to Josh Alwood, who graduated from River Ridge H. S.
