Sherie Howard is a new language arts teacher at Gulf.  She joined the faculty on March 22, replacing Ms. Deg. She teaches 10th grade English. She comes to Gulf from Land O’ Lakes High School, where she taught for 15 years as the performance based diploma teacher and graduation enhancement teacher. Ms. Howard actually taught at Gulf High School once before, in 1990-91 and 1991-92. She was then transferred to Gulf Middle, then to Pasco High, and then to Land O’ Lakes. Ms. Howard is in her 22nd year of teaching. She has a B. A. degree in English Education from UCF and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She was born in Detroit and attended North Fort Myers High School. She has two children. A daughter, 16, attends Hudson High School; her son is 22 years old.  She reports that her interests including reading and writing. She has been published in several magazines.
