On Dec. 5 a guest speaker from St. Petersburg College talked to the Health Careers Academy students about a program offered only at SPC. Mrs. Bell is the Career Specialist from SPC and the program is the Orthotics and Prosthetics Associates Science Degree. It is the only one in the state of Florida. It is a hands-on program/curriculum where students make and build orthotics and prosthetics. Ms. Butler says that it was a very interesting presentation which gave our students a great insight on yet another opportunity in the medical field.
