The following School Connects telephone message was sent by Ms. Davis to parents this afternoon (5/31).

Hello. This is Kim Davis, Principal of Gulf High School, calling with some very sad news. We have been notified that one of our students, Jacob Sayers, passed away yesterday afternoon in a tragic accident. The district’s Crisis Intervention Team joined our school’s Student Services staff today to offer additional support and counseling services at our school. The Crisis Team and Student Services staff spoke with students in each of Jacob’s classes. These services will continue to be made available for our students as long as they are needed. If your student seems unusually sad, anxious, or has difficulty focusing, please call and we will arrange for him or her to talk with a school counselor or a crisis team member. For more information on ways you can help your student, please visit our school website, as helpful links have been posted. Our sympathy goes out to Jacob’s family, and we share their sorrow and sense of loss with his passing. Thank you.
