Ms. Dixon, who teaches American Government and Economics, is in Dubai studying economic and trade relations between the USA and UAE and she sent us two pictures.

She says that Dubai is the number 1 trading partner of the United States in the Middle East. Many American companies such as Chevrolet, Federal Express, Ford, and Pepsi base their distribution centers in Dubai, which in turn supplies not only the Middle East, but also Africa and Asia. It is estimated that there are 55,000 Americans living and working in Dubai. Most residents of Dubai are actually citizens of other countries. Only 15% of the population are Emirati and the other 85% are citizens of other countries such as the U. S., Australia, Great Britain, and Canada.
