Scott Poling, a custodian who started at GHS in 2004, has been selected as the Gulf High School SRP of the Year.

It is the second time he has won this honor. He was earlier named SRP of the year in the 2009-10 school year.

Mr. Poling’s main responsibilities are the cafeteria and the gaming academy.

He was born in St. Petersburg and attended Dixie Hollins High School. Before coming to Gulf, he worked mostly in restaurants and as a DJ. He is no doubt a Ramones fan, judging by his shirt.

His wife Shanon as been a teacher for 20 years and is currently teaching at the James Irvin Academy. His daughter, who attends PHSC, will be a teacher.

Congratulations, Scott!

SRP stands for School Related Personnel. The term describes most school employees who are not teachers.
