Billedo and Muetzel head the Class of 2005

Julie Anne Billedo and Brittany Muetzel have been named the valedictorian and salutatorian of the Class of 2005.

The two students have been best friends since the seventh grade at Gulf Middle School. They plan to room together at the University of Florida.

Julie, the valedictorian, is the daughter of Jose and Teresita Billedo of Port Richey. She is president of the Gulf chapter of the National Honor Society, vice president of the Student Council Executive Board, treasurer of Interact, historian of the Spanish Honor Society, and a member of the Math Honor Society and yearbook staff. She was on the varsity track and field team for two years.

She plans to attend the University of Florida and major in pre-pharmacy and subsequently enter the School of Pharmacy at UF. She hopes to become a pharmacologist.

Brittany, the salutatorian, is the daughter of David and Lawanna Muetzel of New Port Richey. She is president of Interact, vice president of the Gulf chapter of the National Honor Society, historian of the Spanish Honor Society, a member of the math honor society, and a member of the yearbook staff. She was on the varsity swimming team for four years, the varsity track team for two years, and the varsity weightlifting team for one year. She has been a hostess at Red Lobster and a lifeguard at the New Port Richey pool.

She plans to attend the University of Florida and major in political science and English. She hopes eventually to attend law school and pursue a career in law and politics.
