Assistant Principal Thomas Brochu, substituting for Mr. Imerson, presented Character First pins to three NJROTC cadets today. Mr. Imerson, who was not at school today, occasionally presents these pins to honor students for exemplary actions or achievements in school. The students are, left to right, Mark Pini, Codrut Popescu, and Jordyn Roberts. Also in the photo is NJROTC Chief Jose Rodriguez. On Oct. 31, 2006, the three cadets, driving near Perrine Ranch Road, noticed a boy lying unconscious and unattended on a sidewalk. They stopped to investigate and notified authorities. The boy, who was a 15-year-old student at another local high school, might have died if left alone another 15 minutes, according to a nurse at the hospital to which he was taken.
